In a pioneering move to aid women police personnel and female complainants, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, will introduce child-friendly rooms in 14 police stations, according to an official announcement on Thursday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Diksha Bhavre, revealed that the initiative aims to create a nurturing environment for the children of female constables on duty. These rooms will be equipped with toys, swings, and other facilities, and will also cater to the children of female complainants visiting the stations.

Bhavre explained that many female police officers, especially those from nuclear families, bring their children to work due to a lack of proper childcare arrangements. To combat this issue, dedicated child-friendly spaces will be established at these police stations, featuring separate areas for breastfeeding. The project has already commenced in four police stations located in Allahganj, Tilhar, Powayan, and Sidhauli.
