The legal saga surrounding the alleged murder of businessman Raja Raghuvanshi took another turn this week in Shillong. On Thursday, a court extended the police custody period for Sonam Raghuvanshi and her partner, Raj Kushwaha, by two days.
This decision follows the judicial remand of three hitmen purportedly hired to commit the crime. Raja, who vanished alongside his spouse during a honeymoon trip in Meghalaya, was later discovered dead, his body decomposing at the bottom of a gorge.
Soon after, the suspects, including Raj and the hired gunmen, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Raj Singh Kushwaha, were arrested across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Notably, Sonam surrendered to the police amidst the continued investigation.
