In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested a 25-year-old man allegedly involved in a cyber fraud operation by impersonating a customer care executive, an official reported on Friday.

Named Asad Ali Abbas, the suspect was apprehended in Kolkata after investigators tracked him down through the digital trail of fraudulent activity, according to the report.

Abbas targeted individuals searching for customer service numbers online, tricking them into downloading malicious applications to gain remote access to their devices and conduct fraudulent transactions, police said.
