In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police has dismantled a large-scale fake degree syndicate, arresting five individuals involved in fabricating and distributing counterfeit academic certificates.
The operation led to the seizure of hundreds of forged documents, with the racket operating primarily through coaching centers and educational consultancies across Delhi and the NCR.
Authorities recovered 228 fake mark sheets, 27 degree certificates, and 20 migration certificates. The ringleader, Vicky Harjani, was apprehended, leading to further arrests. The syndicate operated through numerous decentralized centers providing fake documents for substantial fees, often attracting students needing urgent certifications.
