Eyewitness Niclas Brundell described the harrowing moment when he and his wife observed rocks tumbling from the mountain, prompting them to flee for safety. "We just kept sprinting," Brundell recounted, capturing the terror of those at the scene.

Efforts to recover those affected by the incident will include the use of drones and rescue dogs. Andy Dragt, an organiser for a local hiking club, confirmed the loss of one of their members, highlighting the personal toll of the tragedy.
