The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally chargesheeted Jatinder Singh, also known as Joti, in a significant Punjab terror conspiracy case. Singh is identified as a pivotal ally of Babbar Khalsa International terrorist Lakhbir Singh and notorious gangster Pavittar Batala. The agency filed the chargesheet on Friday in a special court in Mohali.
Singh, originally from Gurdaspur in Punjab, was apprehended in Mumbai on December 23 last year. His arrest is linked to allegations of illegal firearm procurement and supply from Madhya Pradesh to gangsters operating in Punjab. These operations were supposedly aimed at aiding Batala, an associate of a designated terrorist known as Landa.
The investigation discovered Singh's collaboration with foreign entities to coordinate these activities and his use of encrypted communications to circumvent detection. The NIA continues to probe the involvement of Landa, Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, and their international accomplices in the conspiracy.
