In a significant move towards peace, ten youths attempting to form an extremist group in Assam have surrendered their arms, officials revealed on Sunday. The surrender is the result of effective intelligence operations and outreach efforts by the Karbi Anglong Police.
These measures dovetail with the vision articulated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to ensure progress and stability in the region. The operation resulted in the surrender of one AK rifle, three pistols, a double-barreled gun, a grenade, and ammunition.
