Jeweller in Maharashtra Accused of Cheating Gold Supplier
A jeweller in Thane, Maharashtra, is accused of cheating a gold supplier to the tune of Rs 93.5 lakh. The accused acquired 950 grams of gold over three years but failed to pay despite multiple reminders. A police case has been registered for criminal breach of trust and cheating.

A jeweller in Maharashtra's Thane district is facing legal action for allegedly cheating a gold ornaments supplier out of Rs 93.5 lakh, according to an official statement made on Monday.
The jeweller, who operates a shop in the Khardi area of Shahapur, acquired 950 grams of gold jewellery from the supplier over a period of three years. Despite repeated reminders from the supplier, the jeweller reportedly failed to settle the significant outstanding amount.
Following the supplier's formal complaint, Bazarpeth police station officials in Kalyan filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the jeweller on Sunday. Charges include criminal breach of trust under section 316(2) and cheating under section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
