Former BJP MP Anant Kumar Hegde, along with his gunman, driver, and another individual, faces serious allegations after a family reported being assaulted on the Tumakuru-Bengaluru National Highway.

According to the complaint lodged by Saif Khan, their vehicle was intercepted near Suttariya College by the group, who claimed official status before resorting to violence.

The assailants reportedly issued life threats, brandished a firearm, and hurled communal slurs during the altercation. The police have initiated an investigation as the Dobbespet Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
