Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel triggered by recent US actions, India has evacuated a substantial number of its citizens from the two countries. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that 292 Indians were evacuated from Iran, while 366 were brought back from Israel.

This effort is part of India's Operation Sindhu, launched to safeguard its nationals amid increasing hostilities. Since the beginning of the operation, a total of 2,295 citizens have been successfully repatriated from Iran.

Coordinated special flights and military transport aircraft facilitated these evacuations, with citizens being moved through various border crossings and locations, including Iran's Mashhad, Yerevan in Armenia, and Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.
