Rajnath Singh Empowers CDS for Unified Defence Strategy

In a significant move toward the modernisation and transformation of India's armed forces, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has authorised Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan to issue joint orders to the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

This development marks a departure from the previous system where each service issued instructions separately. It is part of the government's broader strategy to implement the theaterisation model for greater synergy and jointness, enhancing coordination among the three services.

The defence ministry's initiative aims to streamline procedures, eliminate redundancies, and foster transparency and administrative efficiency.
