Amid ongoing Iran-Israel tensions, calls for a ceasefire by US President Donald Trump appear ineffective as uncertainty persists for Indian nationals in the region. Operation Sindhu has emerged as a lifeline for evacuees from Karnataka's Alipur village.

Tensions notwithstanding, 51 Indian nationals have successfully returned home, easing concerns among families. The first group of 25 evacuees landed at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. Among them, Mir Asif and Syed Mohammed Razi, students of Islamic Studies, expressed gratitude to the Indian Embassy and Karnataka government for their safe return.

Alipur, known for its Shia Muslim community with deep-rooted connections to Iran, witnessed over 100 residents traveling to Iran, primarily students or those with familial and business ties. As the region remains on edge, more are expected to return in the near future.
