In recent developments, the Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has demanded severe repercussions for an individual involved in a grave child sexual abuse case. The suspect was taken into custody by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) amid allegations of sexual assault and distributing explicit online content.
During a press conference in Aizawl, MSCPCR chairperson Jimmy Laltlanmawia revealed that the accused, identified as Lalrampana, was apprehended following his alleged acts committed against a minor. The arrest was made on June 9, with explicit materials reportedly circulated online. MSCPCR has vowed to ensure that stringent punishment is meted out as per the stipulations of the POCSO Act.
The CBI's investigation unearthed a cache of graphic content involving minors. This breakthrough came after the agency executed coordinated cyber intelligence, corroborated by Interpol databases and Google-generated reports. As a result, the forensic review showcased the alarming scale of the crime with demands for heightened vigilance and zero tolerance towards child abuse.
