A 40-year-old woman was found dead in a sack in Bengaluru, as her partner was arrested on charges of murder following a drunken argument, the police confirmed on Monday.
Local residents discovered the body on Sunday and informed the authorities at Chennammanakere Achukattu police station. The victim, identified as Asha, had been cohabiting with a 33-year-old man from Assam.
The couple, both housekeeping staff, disguised their relationship as a marriage. On Saturday night, an inebriated disagreement between them escalated into violence, resulting in her suffocation. The man's attempt to dispose of the body led to his arrest, and a murder case is now underway.
