A 13-year-old murder case reached closure as police apprehended a fugitive in New Delhi. Govind Kumar Jagatnarayan Chowdhary, who had been evading authorities since 2012, was arrested for the murder of Sureshkumar Suryanarayan Chowdhary in Thane district.
The crime team from Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar police employed technical analysis and intelligence inputs to confirm his identity. The gruesome 2012 murder involved the accused strangling his victim with a wire and bludgeoning him.
The motive behind the crime is revealed to be an illicit relationship involving the victim. The accused had managed to evade capture for over a decade until his arrest was secured in New Delhi.
