In a significant police operation in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, authorities arrested four alleged drug peddlers with narcotics including heroin on Monday. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
The apprehended individuals, Jeevan Kumar and Sunil Kumar from Jaganoo village, were found in possession of 9.40 grams of heroin valued at Rs 6 lakh. They were intercepted on the Jammu-Srinagar highway during a police checkpoint.
Two additional suspects, Sanjay Kumar and Rohit Kumar, were also arrested at the Flata checkpoint, with police recovering approximately 9.60 kg of poppy straw worth Rs 1 lakh. Authorities have intensified their vigilance, and actions include freezing accounts, seizing vehicles, and achieving several convictions under the NDPS Act.
