In a shocking incident, ten individuals have been apprehended in Jharkhand's Khunti district in connection with the murder of a local village head. Balaram Munda, the head of Landup panchayat, was brutally killed in Kadetubid village last Saturday night.
Police reports indicate that the suspects believed a substantial amount of opium was hidden at Munda's residence. Disappointment at not locating it led to their violent actions. Khunti Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo confirmed no evidence of Munda's involvement in opium activities, contradicting the rationale behind the crime.
The investigation led to the recovery of three country-made pistols, two pistols, 14 live cartridges, and 10 mobile phones from those arrested. The case highlights the dangers of misinformation and the grim consequences it can entail.
