In a commendable stand for legality, Uttar Pradesh minister Asim Arun refused to use a vehicle equipped with an unauthorized blue beacon during his visit to Varanasi this Monday.
The minister of state for social welfare, who is also a former IPS officer, identified the violation upon inspection and promptly reported it to local police.
Arun was in the city for the Anusuchit Jaati evam Janjaati Swabhimaan Sammelan, marking the 94th birth anniversary of social worker Narendra Kumar Shastri, a significant event for social welfare and inclusion.
