The incident transpired on May 17, 2018, shattering an 11-year-old girl's life. As the chilling details unfolded, it was revealed that while her parents slept on the terrace, Manoj, her maternal uncle, violated her trust by entering her room and committing the despicable act. He compounded his crime by threatening the young girl with dire consequences if she divulged the assault.
The swift action by the Nandgram police resulted in Manoj's arrest under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Special Public Prosecutor Sanjiv Kumar Bakharwa confirmed the sentence, which will be served in open court. Additionally, failure to pay the fine will result in a further six months of imprisonment, ensuring justice for the young victim as the fine is directed to her.
