Embracing AI to Revolutionize Governance in India

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called for greater efficiency in legislative bodies through the smart use of resources, protecting democratic values, and the integration of technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). During the CPA India Region's annual conference, Birla expressed the need for state legislatures to adopt best practices and technological innovations to bolster democratic frameworks and improve legislative operations.

Highlighting Parliament's extensive application of AI for enhancing parliamentary tasks, Birla reiterated the Parliament secretariat's readiness to share these advancements with state counterparts to foster transparency, accountability, and effective governance. AI and digital tools, he noted, are crucial in narrowing the gap between the public and legislative entities, ensuring more responsive and clear governance structures.

Linking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'One Nation, One Legislative Platform' vision, Birla voiced optimism for a unified digital platform for all state legislatures, projecting it as a means to streamline debate, budgetary discussions, and law-making while encouraging states to innovate constructively.
