In a disturbing incident reported from Navi Mumbai, a 40-year-old man has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman and threatening her at gunpoint, according to local police reports on Tuesday.
The police in Taloja registered the case against the accused, identified as Kundan Netke, following the woman's complaint, an official stated. The charges include sexual harassment and criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The woman alleged that Netke, an acquaintance, accosted her on June 28 while she was en route to a metro station. After demanding sexual favors, he reportedly brandished a revolver when she refused. The woman managed to escape and reported the incident to the police, who have launched an investigation, although no arrests have been made yet.
