The AIADMK has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the custodial death of Ajithkumar in Sivaganga, citing a decline in public confidence in the state police force.
AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami criticized Chief Minister M K Stalin, referring to the leader's actions as a 'drama' and questioning the integrity of the post-mortem results, which documented numerous injuries on Ajithkumar's body. Palaniswami labeled the incident a 'murder' resulting from police misconduct.
Public and political dissatisfaction has grown, with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay demanding a separate Special Investigation Team for the case.
