On Tuesday, students of South Calcutta Law College gathered in protest, demanding improved safety measures on their campus following a heinous gang rape incident the previous month.
Holding placards and chanting slogans, the protestors rallied for justice and advocated for significant reforms within the college's governing body. In response to the incident, the college expelled two students involved and terminated the contract of the primary accused employee.
Voices from the protest emphasized that those culpable have no place at their institution, criticizing the security arrangements and tainted reputation. The call for a neutral governing body inclusive of student representatives was prominent among demands.
