Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a special investigation team (SIT) to delve into the alleged sexual harassment of a minor girl at a coaching class in Beed. The SIT will be led by a senior female officer, as Fadnavis emphasized a swift and thorough investigation.
The issue took a political turn as NCP legislator Chetan Tupe brought the matter to the state assembly, leading to heated exchanges. Tupe demanded transparency, questioning who might be shielding the accused. Two individuals have already been arrested, with calls for accountability extending to any protectors of the alleged perpetrators.
Amidst the criminal inquiry, political flames were fanned by NCP MLA Dhananjay Munde, who claimed one suspect was affiliated with NCP (SP) MLA Sandip Kshirsagar. Kshirsagar refuted involvement, asserting the investigation is transparent and comprehensive. Meanwhile, the region's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured that all evidence, including CCTV footage, had been secured for a conclusive outcome.
