Suhan Khan, a resilient transgender individual from Bangladesh, defied odds by returning to her previous locality in northwest Delhi within a month after deportation. She was among the 300 illegal immigrants deported to Bangladesh, only to navigate her way back through the porous Indo-Bangladesh border.
Khan, who survives by begging in Shalimar Bagh, was nabbed along with six others for illegally staying in India. Despite being initially apprehended in May, she exploited her situation by pretending intellectual disability and skirted the border under cover of darkness.
Upon her return, authorities discovered her group using banned messaging apps to communicate with Bangladeshi families, revealing ongoing issues of illegal immigration through India's land borders. The police continue to monitor and apprehend illegal immigrants, underlining the challenges of managing these open borders.
