In a chilling reminder of the unrest in Balochistan, militants attacked government offices and a bank in the Mastung district, resulting in the tragic death of a 16-year-old boy and injuries to seven civilians. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, has raised concerns over the growing violence in the region.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind reported that security forces responded swiftly, engaging the militants in a gunfight. In the ensuing exchange, two terrorists were killed and three others injured. Following the incident, a full-scale security operation was launched in the area to apprehend remaining militants and secure the region.
While no group has claimed responsibility, Rind alleged connections to a proxy group linked to India, though such claims have been previously denied by India. This attack adds to the province's history of low-level violence, fueled by ethnic Baloch groups protesting perceived exploitation of the region's resources.
