Security Forces Nab Key Militants in Manipur Operation

In a significant crackdown on insurgency, three militants affiliated with various outlawed organizations were apprehended by security forces across the Imphal Valley districts in Manipur, police reported on Thursday.
Among those detained was Oinam Hemanjit Singh, a member of the banned PREPAK (PRO) faction, taken into custody from the Meitram area in Bishnupur district. Security operations extended to Sekmaijin Maning Leikai in Imphal East, where Oinam Tomba Singh, aged 57, linked to the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), was captured for involvement in extorting petrol pumps in Kakching and Thoubal.
Further success was reported as Lourembam Suresh, 47, an active cadre of the same militant group, was detained from Elang Khangpokpi Awang Leikai in Kakching district. In concurrent action, security personnel seized an arsenal including a .303 rifle, pistols, grenades, and detonators from Andro Khuman in Imphal East, reflecting the extensive threat posed by armed groups.
