The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued a temporary injunction against Patanjali, barring the company from airing advertisements that derogatively target Dabur Chyawanprash.
Justice Mini Pushkarna ruled in favor of Dabur, which challenged Patanjali's promotional content for its ''Special Chyawanprash.'' The advertisements allegedly suggest that no other manufacturers possess the expertise necessary to produce Chyawanprash, thereby constituting generic disparagement.
Dabur's legal representatives, Jawahar Lala and Meghna Kumar, argued that the commercials misleadingly label other Chyawanprash products as ordinary and inferior. The court is scheduled to continue proceedings on July 14.
