The Gujarat High Court has extended the temporary bail of self-styled godman Asaram by one more month, marking it as the final extension, according to the court's latest directive.
Asaram, who is serving a life sentence in a 2013 rape case, has been on bail due to medical reasons. Initially granted temporary bail by the Supreme Court, which was set to expire in late June, the High Court had offered an interim extension till early July.
During the recent hearing, Asaram's counsel requested a further three-month extension, but the court limited it to one month, deeming it the final indulgence pending a detailed order.
