Rescued from Dubai: Jharkhand Workers' Journey Home

In a major relief effort, 15 labourers from Jharkhand who were stranded in Dubai due to unpaid wages will soon be repatriated, officials confirmed. The situation came to light when the workers sent a video message pleading for assistance from the Jharkhand government.

Prompt action was initiated after Chief Minister Hemant Soren ordered the safe return of the workers, originally from Giridih, Hazaribag, and Dhanbad. The workers had reported severe financial distress, including a lack of water supply due to unpaid rent.

The state's Labour Department and Migrant Control Room collaborated with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Their joint efforts have led to the company releasing part of the wages and assurances that the workers will be returned home safely.
