Disguised Theft: Criminals Impersonate Devotees in Kanwar Camps

In a startling development, police apprehended five individuals with criminal backgrounds on Monday for allegedly masquerading as Shiva devotees to commit theft at Kanwar camps, officials reported.
The suspects, Suhail, Asif, another Asif, Shamshad, and Abid, were taken into custody in the Civil Lines police station area, said Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar.
As police investigate, concerns over communal harmony have prompted the formation of a Special Investigation Team to delve into the actions of the accused, who face charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
