A 60-year-old widow in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district faced a brutal assault by villagers on allegations of practicing witchcraft, police have reported.
Following an FIR lodged by the victim, police have arrested one individual on Monday, with the remaining six accused still at large. A witch doctor from Koderma district reportedly incited the villagers to act against the widow.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible, as the victim suspects some villagers aimed to seize her property. The police assure that those responsible will be brought to justice.
