A fortuitous video call screenshot has led to the arrest of two 19-year-olds in connection with a series of robberies and vehicle thefts in southwest Delhi, authorities revealed on Monday.
Harsh and Ashish, residents of Vikas Nagar, have been accused of using stolen motorcycles for armed robberies to support their drug addiction and pay for hotel stays. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma confirmed their arrest resolved at least seven criminal cases, with police retrieving motorcycles, an autorickshaw, a pistol, and a knife.
Investigation began after a robbery report on July 17. The complainant's sister captured a crucial screenshot during a video call with the stolen phone. This led police to the suspects, culminating in a chase and their eventual capture. Both have confessed to city-wide crimes targeting isolated pedestrians.
