A Delhi court has found Bijender Singh guilty of attempting culpable homicide after he attempted to strangle his wife, Sangeeta, using a scarf.
The decision came under IPC Section 308, despite initial charges being filed under the more severe IPC Section 307 for attempted murder.
Evidence revealed that while Singh's actions were violent, they did not meet the legal criteria for attempted murder, as his wife remained hemodynamically stable. Sentencing is scheduled for August 5.
