In a startling development, two private schools in the region were targeted with bomb threats via email on Wednesday. Despite exhaustive inspections by the bomb disposal unit and canine teams, no dangerous materials were discovered, local police confirmed.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Vinayak Bhosale disclosed that the ominous emails were sent to Shri Ram School and Global School. ''Extensive checks by dedicated teams revealed no threats at either site,'' stated ACP Bhosale.
Normalcy returned to the schools as academic sessions resumed. Meanwhile, the police's cyber cell launched a probe into the origin of the emails, with initial results suggesting they were sent from Kolkata. Further investigations are in full swing to apprehend those responsible.
