A 27-year-old security guard identified as Sumit has been apprehended by Delhi police for his involvement in the assault and ransacking of a clothing store located in Swaroop Nagar, North Delhi. The incident, which took place on June 24, reportedly involved a group of seven to eight men who violently attacked a salesman and vandalized the store, according to police officials.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Harsh Indora stated that Sumit had been evading arrest by frequently changing his location. While five others had already been arrested, Sumit was captured on July 22 following a tip-off from the Azadpur Mandi area. Sumit's involvement was prompted by a grudge held by his friend against the store owner.

Sumit, a resident of Swaroop Nagar, works as a security guard in Azadpur Mandi. He admitted to police that he was drawn into the group's actions by his friend Chaitanya, who allegedly had a personal vendetta against the store owner. Sumit revealed his troubled history, including dropping out of school and struggling with alcohol consumption.
