A luxury SUV caused quite a stir when it got lodged in the sand of Dumas beach, sparking police action. The driver of the SUV has been taken into custody for rash driving. It stands as a stark reminder against taking vehicles into restricted zones, officials stated on Wednesday.
Police are urging the vehicle's insurer, valued at over Rs 1 crore, to deny any damage claims to dissuade others from following suit. A county-wide notification bars any four-wheeler from entering the beach, yet this driver risked it all, only to face legal consequences.
The incident went viral on social media, helping authorities track down the owner, 50-year-old Aksar Abdulla Shah. After being stuck for 36 hours, his SUV was finally retrieved. Shah faces charges under section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and is released on bail.
