In a tense encounter, an alleged cattle smuggler was apprehended after a firefight with law enforcement near the Airport Road cemetery. The incident unfolded on Thursday, resulting in the injury and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

The operation was initiated when Khadda police, acting on a tip-off, established a checkpoint in the area. As a pickup truck approached, officers attempted to halt the vehicle, only to be met with gunfire aimed at them.

In self-defense, police returned fire, injuring Maqsood, the vehicle's occupant from Purkhas in Bihar's Gopalganj district. Post-incident, officers confiscated six cattle along with a .315 bore country-made pistol. The suspect, now in custody, is receiving medical treatment as investigations continue.
