Tragic Shooting of Scrap Dealer Sparks Protest in Muzaffarpur

A scrap dealer, Mohammad Gulab, was tragically shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, police reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred late Wednesday outside Gulab's shop in Majhaulia, where he succumbed to his injuries, confirmed Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vinita Sinha. Authorities suspect a land dispute may have escalated into violence.

Following the incident, chaotic scenes unfolded as family members and locals staged protests, blocking NH-28 and setting vehicles ablaze. Enhanced security measures were implemented, and senior officials managed to clear the highway for traffic. Police are actively investigating to apprehend the suspects involved.
