Maharashtra Jail Inmate Busted with Hidden Mobile

An undertrial inmate at Beed jail in Maharashtra has been charged after being caught with a contraband mobile phone. The incident came to light on Tuesday when the prisoner was acting suspiciously behind the jail's kitchen.
Identified as Rafiq Sayyed, the inmate had concealed the phone in his undergarment but without a SIM card, according to an official statement. Law enforcement authorities swiftly seized the device.
Subsequently, a legal case was registered at the Shivajinagar police station. Charges have been filed under sections of The Prisons Act, 1894, and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to the possession of prohibited items and disobeying lawful orders within prison confines.
