EU Urges China to Leverage Influence for Ukraine Peace

The European Union is calling on China to use its influence to persuade Russia towards a ceasefire in Ukraine, according to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

After discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, von der Leyen stressed the importance of negotiations to halt the ongoing conflict.

She noted that China's response to Russia's war strategies would be a decisive factor in shaping EU-China relations in the future.
