A man has been taken into custody following allegations of abducting and raping a 14-year-old girl, alongside forcefully converting her religion. Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Mishra stated that the arrest took place after the girl's father lodged a complaint.
The father reported the disappearance of his daughter, accusing a local, Shamshad alias Munna, who had allegedly taken her to a location near Kerala. During this time, the girl was reportedly forced to convert her religion, and her name was changed to Nargis Khatoon.
Munna reportedly obtained official identification for her under this new name. The arrest occurred in Pipra Bazar, with subsequent legal actions currently ongoing. The case highlights ongoing concerns regarding forced conversions and the protection of minors.
