The U.S. State Department is focusing its efforts on securely delivering aid to Gaza, as confirmed in a recent news briefing by deputy spokesperson Tommy Pigott. Pigott highlighted the issue of Hamas potentially looting these aid supplies.
Hamas has been accused of 'weaponizing' aid through looting, according to Pigott. He underlined the importance of establishing a robust system to ensure that aid reaches those in need without interference.
'We have a system in place attempting to get as much aid into Gaza in a way that avoids Hamas looting,' said Pigott. He reiterated the department's ongoing commitment to this challenging task.
