Thailand has firmly rejected mediation efforts from third-party countries aiming to end the ongoing conflict with neighboring Cambodia. The Southeast Asian nation insists that a resolution should occur through direct talks with Phnom Penh, the Thai foreign ministry stated on Friday.

Despite offers from the United States, China, and Malaysia—currently holding the ASEAN chair—to facilitate dialogue, Thailand remains steadfast in pursuing a bilateral approach to the conflict, according to ministry spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura in a Reuters interview.

Nikorndej emphasized, "I don't think we need any mediation from a third country yet," highlighting Thailand's preference for handling the situation independently.
