Navi Mumbai Police Crackdown: Trafficking Network Busted

The Navi Mumbai police have taken a significant step in the fight against human trafficking by arresting three individuals from West Bengal, according to an official statement released on Friday.
Members of the anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU) apprehended the suspects, who had been evading capture in Malda, West Bengal, since July 23. The trio faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1946.
Senior Inspector Prithviraj Ghorpade identified the accused as Shambhu Munilal Upadhyay, Dhirendra Tilakchand Arya, and Maqbool Bilal Ansari. The investigation continues as police work to uncover a broader trafficking network.
