In a major breakthrough, security forces in Manipur conducted multiple operations in the hill districts of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, Tengnoupal, and Chandel, leading to the recovery of 155 firearms and 1,652 rounds of ammunition. This series of intelligence-based operations was a collaborative effort involving police, Central Armed Police Forces, Assam Rifles, and the army.
The recovery included eight AK series rifles, two INSAS rifles, four carbines, and a range of other firearms and ammunitions. Significant seizures also comprised 31 locally made mortars, 39 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 13 hand grenades, and 15 communication sets, highlighting the scope and success of the operations.
Manipur police applauded the concerted efforts to restore peace, emphasizing the crucial role of community cooperation in the ongoing mission to safeguard lives. Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, reinforcing their commitment to a peaceful and secure Manipur.
