Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Dipika Pandey Singh confirmed the government's preparedness for the upcoming state assembly monsoon session, which kicks off on August 1. Singh addressed the media, highlighting a key legislative proposal—the Jharkhand University Bill aimed at overhauling the state's higher education landscape.
The proposed bill, set for introduction during the session, excludes medical and agricultural universities, seeking instead to unify other university governance under a comprehensive act. This legislative effort, anticipated to bring 'revolutionary changes,' awaits opposition support for successful passage. The bill received cabinet approval on July 24.
Additionally, the session will tackle a supplementary budget and previous unresolved issues, spanning five working days. Singh also addressed law enforcement, emphasizing strict penalties for crimes involving women and girls, reinforcing the rule of law in Jharkhand as she interacted with 52 attendees at her public outreach event, 'Janta Darbar.'
