Mumbai police announced a significant drug bust, seizing more than 187 kilograms of mephedrone estimated at Rs 382 crore in Mysuru, Karnataka. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals, as confirmed by high-ranking officials on Monday.

The investigation originated in April when authorities caught a man with 52 grams of mephedrone in Sakinaka, Mumbai. His subsequent interrogation exposed a network involving three more individuals, leading to the recovery of an additional 4.53 kilograms of the drug, valued at Rs 8 crore, as disclosed by officials.

Salim Imtiyaaz Sheikh, also known as Salim Landga, was apprehended on July 25, guiding police to a seemingly innocuous building along Mysuru Ring Road. Initially appearing as a hotel and garage, the building housed a clandestine mephedrone production unit, supplying the drug to Mumbai and nearby regions. Eight individuals, five from Mumbai, have been charged under the NDPS Act, and ongoing investigations may result in further arrests.
