Suspended Bengaluru Officers Reinstated Post Inquiry

The Karnataka state government has reinstated four police officers, including B Dayananda, the former Bengaluru Police Commissioner, after suspending them over a deadly stampede incident outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, which claimed 11 lives.
The decision came following the conclusion of investigations by both a Judicial Commission and Magisterial committee, which led to the submission of reports to the government. The officers had also filed requests for the retraction of their suspensions.
However, the suspension of Vikash Kumar Vikash, the Inspector General of Police, remains active due to ongoing proceedings in the Karnataka High Court. The government had previously suspended five officers on the grounds of dereliction of duty, but recent findings prompted the reconsideration.
