In Andhra Pradesh, a political storm brews over the chief minister's P4 initiative, as allegations surface regarding forced teacher participation. Opposition leader N Chandrasekhar Reddy charged the government with coercing public servants into engaging with the poverty eradication program, officially named 'P4 Margadarsi Bangaru Kutumbam.'
Launched by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati, the scheme enlisted affluent volunteers to mentor less fortunate families. Reddy, however, labeled the initiative a diversion from the government's unfulfilled electoral promises and accused it of exerting undue pressure on teachers who already face financial constraints.
Amidst claims of government attempts to mask failures, the vice-chairman of Swarnandhra P4 Foundation dismissed these allegations, asserting the program is entirely voluntary. Tensions persist as claims and counterclaims surface, leaving the teaching community anxious and poised for potential protests.
